Version 2026.9

Features

  • Top and bottom docking areas have now vertical tab bars on the left side.
  • Changes to Add lines mode:
    • Snapping to single points within same file replaces them by default.
    • Snapping to a single point with the Ctrl-key creates always copy.
    • Snapping to any other point creates always copy.
  • Both installation package and main executable are now signed by Novatron.
  • View export improvements:
    • Added option for writing raster images with transparent background.
    • Created PDF files are automatically opened in the system PDF viewer.
    • New Print area mode showing paper area on canvas.
      • Paper can be moved by dragging it with the Shift-key.
    • New scale setting for scaling view to the paper.
  • Improved point and text moving:
    • Both status bar and point edit coordinates are updated during move.
    • Moved points snap now to other points for exact positioning.
  • New File / Export to Project command:
    • Same as Export as, but goes automatically to the current project folder.
  • Manage project improvements:
    • New Expand all and Collapse all commands in the pop-up menu.
    • New pop-up menu commands for uploading single file or folder contents.
    • New pop-up menu command for uploading the whole subfolder hierarchy.
    • New column for displaying file or folder sync state.
    • New Refresh button at the bottom reloads current site.
    • New Sync all button at the bottom uploads all changes.
    • New header pop-up menu containing global Expand and Collapse commands.
  • Object info changes:
    • New Label color setting for label colors.
    • Single point info is now shown always, line point info is optional.
    • New Line info settings for line attributes and geometric info.
      • Segment info shown at both sides of the segment.
      • Segment distance and slope information in multiple units.
    • Selected setting now overrides all other info selection settings.
    • Individual dialog sections can expanded and collapsed.
    • All dialog settings save and restore their values.
  • Added support for Latin Extended-A characters (Unicode 0100–017F).
  • All edit dialogs have now description fields below the code edit fields.
  • New object snap state indicator in the status bar.
  • Active project and file name are now displayed at the main window title bar.
  • New element summary function:
    • Generates PDF summary report from the active element.
    • Report contains information about element geometry and properties.
    • Lists also used category and feature codes.

Fixes

  • Fixed line creation crashes with some graphics card drivers.
  • View export DPI setting does not affect line width or point size any more.
  • Line add toolbox uses same parameter order as Line edit dialog.
  • Screen scaling works now correctly when moving application between monitors.
  • Docking tools do not make dock narrower.
  • Point height change in the Line edit does not need Apply button any more.
  • Automatic backup adds extension .rws to the saved recovery files.
  • Locked line edit values do not affect area selection and clipping any more.

Features

  • Added circle radius editing to the Edit line dialog:
    • When circle is activated, radius field displays its radius.
    • Radius field can be edited and change accepted with the adjacent button.
    • Active point height field can be used to change the circle height.
  • Added property editing:
    • Object attribute values can be edited with double-clicking or Enter key press.
    • New attributes can be added and existing attributes can be deleted.
    • All other property fields can be activated for value copying.
    • New pop-up menu commands for editing and value copying.
  • Scrollable dialog contents:
    • Tool windows can now be smaller than their contents.
    • Right edge scroll bar can be used to view hidden controls.
    • All tool windows can now always be docked and do not block resizing.
  • Improved navigation in properties:
    • Category headers can now be activated with mouse or keyboard.
    • Double clicking or left/right arrow keys open or close the category.
  • PDF and raster image export
    • Export visible view area as a PDF or raster image file.
    • Includes scale bar, but excludes active and selected objects.
    • Settings for PDF paper size, orientation and image resolution.
    • Raster file can be written with image corner coordinates.
  • Text adding and editing:
    • New text adding mode makes copies of the current text with mouse clicks.
    • Text edit tool can be used to edit existing active text.
    • Text codes, string value, font size and color can be changed.
    • Supports also multiline texts.
  • Cross section improvements:
    • Reference line can now be moved by clicking it with the Shift-key.
    • Added Flip button for changing the reference line direction.
  • When the point add mode is active, Point edit Apply adds point with coordinates.
  • Points and texts can now be moved by dragging them with the Shift-key.
  • Added new right side toolbar category for file tools.
  • New volume calculation tool:
    • Calculates volumes between two surfaces or to a constant level.
    • Uses grid based calculation with user definable grid size.
    • Supports limiting calculation inside closed border lines.
    • Creates result file with grid points, border lines and result texts.
  • Added terminology page to documentation.
  • Code list activation improvements:
    • Info message is now displayed for codes not found from the lists.
    • Last code list is opened for easier new code adding.
  • Line copying can now copy line to the surface:
    • Separate slope values for cutting and filling.
    • Point interval setting for more exact surface hits.
    • Reference surface element selection from the element list.
  • Updated Finnish and Swedish translations.

Fixes

  • Active line segment is now always visible over the active line.
  • Moved element list opening from tools menu to file menu.
  • Double-clicking object does not create copy any more.
  • Used term line "segment" instead of line "section".
  • Object selection does not show duplicate lines any more.
  • Fixed line and text preview rendering over surface model.
  • Fixed text selection handling after hiding and showing element.
  • Changed Element list focus handling:
    • Active file is automatically selected when the list is activated.
    • Selection is automatically cleared when activation is lost.
  • Old Novatron NFCL code files use default brown color for surfaces.
  • Line adding to snapped point obeys locked length setting correctly.

Features

  • Code list point and line styles are now displayed as images.
  • New mode for adding circles to the active element:
    • Center point and radius given with mouse clicks.
    • Floating toolbox allows also manual radius entering.
  • New function for hiding triangles outside of closed areas defined by lines:
    • Available as Hide button Shift-option in the Surface edit tool.
  • Update improvements:
    • Option for postponing automatic update checks for one day.
    • Option for disabling automatic update checks in enterprise environments.
  • New Object info setting for highlighting line points.
  • New Find tool for selecting objects to group:
    • Handling both object attributes and macros.
    • Comparing value equality, inequality or order.
    • Searching single values, lists or ranges.
  • Docking areas keep only latest ten tool window tabs.
  • New Cross section control panel:
    • Buttons and range setting for moving the reference line position.
    • Activate button for mode activation.
  • New setting in Surface edit for automatic line shortening before triangulation.
  • View rotation with keyboard:
    • Alt+Arrow keys rotate 3D view horizontally and vertically.
    • PgUP and PgDn zooming uses always camera view direction.
  • New options in line adding:
    • Added line segment length can be locked to a constant 2D or 3D value.
    • Line angle can be locked to relative or absolute constant value.
    • Last used degree or gon values are stored to the drop-down list.
    • Line slope can be locked to a constant value in multiple units.
    • Line slope can be changed afterwards forward from the active point.
    • Floating toolbox displays current length, angle and slope.
    • Values can be edited directly with it and stored with the Enter key.
  • Line adding mode asks confirmation for duplicate points.
  • DWG/DXF reading filters out statistically points too far from the main area.

  • String line layer fixes:
    • Fixed string line layer surface creation in LandXML reading.
    • Fixed steep slope handling in string line layer surface creation.
    • Fixed surface creation in steep curves.
  • Fixed hidden line segment handling in drawing and editing.
  • Fixed File / Save all command handling.
  • Fixed object disappearing when adding it to a new empty file element.
  • LandXML import fixes:
    • Separately listed properties are now connected to CgPoint objects.
    • Single point CgPoints groups are combined together.
  • LandXML vector file export writes now CgPoint and PlanFeature objects:
    • Better compatibility with other applications.
    • Stores also point numbers.
  • Fixed arc drawing in 3D mode.
