Recovery Folder
Rewise makes backup copies of all edited file elements. These copies are stored to the recovery folder \<USER>/AppData/Local/Novatron/Rewise/backup/. The file menu command Recovery folder opens this folder in Windows File Explorer.
The default backup interval is five minutes. This can be changed in application preferences. Setting the interval value to zero disables backups.
The backup file format is always Rewise native RWS-format. File name is generated by converting some characters in the original file path: colon is converted to equal sign and backslashes are converted to @-signs. Extension .rws is then added, if necessary. For example, path c:\folder\file.dxf is converted to a recovery file name c=@folder@file.dxf.rws.
If the computer or application crashes during editing, this folder can be used to retrieve edited but unsaved files. Saving and closing the file element removes the backup copy automatically.
