Create surface model from rasterfile
Examples: Create surface model from house floor plan, create pipelines, roads or parking lot.
Import raster file
- Click File --> Open
- Select the raster file you wish to use
- If file format is supported, it will open and show correctly
- Import
Helmert transformation
- Perform Helmert transformation to raster file, to get it into the correct coordinate system
- Click Tools --> Helmert
- Select the transformation point(s) by clicking the correct points by the mouse
- Add old coordinates and new coordinates to at least one point
- Points can be added by clicking Add point
- When all points are inserted, press Transform
- Check that dx, dy, a, b, scale and angle are reasonable
- Close the Hermert window

Create new line
- Select Create new object --> Add line to create new line in correct coordinate system
- Create new element by clicking File --> New
- Zoom in and draw new line on top of the picture (for example: house corner points)
- When last point is added, click on mouse right button and select Close line
- Hide the raster file from Element list
- Now your line should be clearly visible
- Mouse right click and Snap to object
- Click on the line to select it
- Click Edit objects --> Edit line
- Add surface code and height for the line, press Apply
- New line
Edit lines
- Mouse right click and Snap to object
- Click on the line to select it
- Click Edit objects --> Edit line
- Add surface code and height for the line, press Apply
- Edit line
Copy line
- Select Tools --> Copy line
- Select Outside and Offset and height differece (or what do you prefer)
- Enter desired offsets (sideway and height)
- Press Apply and your copied line should appear (depending the choices you entered)
- Copy another line if you prefer (same way as the first)
- Remove the original line, if it is not needed Delete
- Copy line
Create surfacemodel by using Triangulation
- Select Tools --> Triangulate
- Add desired Surface code and Side length (default side length 30m works mostly)
- Press Apply
- Check the newly created surface by using mouse and view controls
- Save the surface in .xml format
- Triangulate
