Editing Modes

Normally mouse is used for selecting objects in the drawing canvas. However, several editing modes can override this and use mouse for something else.

Modes are started either directly from the menu or sidebar (Add line, Hide triangle), through dialog buttons (Line join) or automatically when dialog starts (Differences, Cross section).

There is always no more than one active mode. Starting a new mode quits old mode automatically. The current mode is displayed at the status bar.

Modes

The status bar mode indicator has mode icon, name and one or two buttons for quitting the mode. Most have only on button which just quits. Some may have separate Cancel and Accept buttons. Cancel-button (or shortcut key Esc) discards changes and Accept-button (or shortcut key Enter) keeps them.

Restarting mode

Accepting mode with the Shift-key accepts the mode, quits it and immediately starts it again. This is useful, for example, when adding multiple lines.

Application remember last used mode and pressing the Enter key when no other mode is active, last used mode is launched.
