Features

  • Code list point and line styles are now displayed as images.
  • New mode for adding circles to the active element:
    • Center point and radius given with mouse clicks.
    • Floating toolbox allows also manual radius entering.
  • New function for hiding triangles outside of closed areas defined by lines:
    • Available as Hide button Shift-option in the Surface edit tool.
  • Update improvements:
    • Option for postponing automatic update checks for one day.
    • Option for disabling automatic update checks in enterprise environments.
  • New Object info setting for highlighting line points.
  • New Find tool for selecting objects to group:
    • Handling both object attributes and macros.
    • Comparing value equality, inequality or order.
    • Searching single values, lists or ranges.
  • Docking areas keep only latest ten tool window tabs.
  • New Cross section control panel:
    • Buttons and range setting for moving the reference line position.
    • Activate button for mode activation.
  • New setting in Surface edit for automatic line shortening before triangulation.
  • View rotation with keyboard:
    • Alt+Arrow keys rotate 3D view horizontally and vertically.
    • PgUP and PgDn zooming uses always camera view direction.
  • New options in line adding:
    • Added line section length can be locked to a constant 2D or 3D value.
    • Line angle can be locked to relative or absolute constant value.
    • Last used degree or gon values are stored to the drop-down list.
    • Line slope can be locked to a constant value in multiple units.
    • Line slope can be changed afterwards forward from the active point.
    • Floating toolbox displays current length, angle and slope.
    • Values can be edited directly with it and stored with the Enter key.
  • Line adding mode asks confirmation for duplicate points.
  • DWG/DXF reading filters out statistically points too far from the main area.

  • String line layer fixes:
    • Fixed string line layer surface creation in LandXML reading.
    • Fixed steep slope handling in string line layer surface creation.
    • Fixed surface creation in steep curves.
  • Fixed hidden line section handling in drawing and editing.
  • Fixed File / Save all command handling.
  • Fixed object disappearing when adding it to a new empty file element.
  • LandXML import fixes:
    • Separately listed properties are now connected to CgPoint objects.
    • Single point CgPoints groups are combined together.
  • LandXML vector file export writes now CgPoint and PlanFeature objects:
    • Better compatibility with other applications.
    • Stores also point numbers.
  • Fixed arc drawing in 3D mode.
  • Fixed crashing when closing the last code file.
  • Fixed full screen switching with docked cross section window.
  • Fixed crashing when deleting selected surface points or lines.
  • Triangle backsides are now always visible.
  • Modified code files are now saved at application exit.

Version 2026.3

Features

  • Added possibility to use Rewise with 3D-Win license:
    • Requires 3D-Win maintenance and support agreement.
    • Controlled by setting in the license setting dialog.
    • Works with both local USB dongle and network license.
    • License id is displayed as customer name.
  • New code list pop-up function uses code in open dialog code fields.
  • Code list favorites:
    • Frequently used codes can be copied to the beginning of the category anf feature lists.
    • All code handling can be done through these favorite copies.
  • Orthographic 3D projection:
    • 3D view mode is now orthographic, scale remains same for both near and far objects.
    • Improves zooming and rotation of large areas.
  • LandXML import reads now also Leica/GeoMax HexagonLandXML code attributes.
  • Added some new instruction videos to the documentation.
  • Added command line parameter handling:
    • Supports help, version and file opening.
    • Standard syntax: rewise.exe [-h] [-v] [files...]
  • Application installation registers .rws extension to Windows system:
    • Rewise icon is displayed for .rws files and double-clicking opens them.
  • Improvements to the Object info:
    • Favorite object properties can be shown beside the points.
    • Added setting for the label font size.

Fixes

  • Object info Selected setting does not override Point and Line settings any more.
  • PDF files are automatically read with transparent background.
  • Fixed dialog resize arrow cursor handling.
  • Improved tool dialog pop-up menus.
  • Fixed reading of UTF-8 encoded DXF files.
  • Fixed text deletion from the selected object group.
  • Fixed context menu closing with the Esc-key.
  • Fixed initial color of created surface models.

Version 2026.1

Features

  • Native file extension is now .rws.
    • Uses internally new binary file version 8.
    • Reads also older .tdw file versions 7 (Rewise) and 6 (3D-Win).
    • File saving does not use multiple extensions any more.
  • Mode accept and restart work now also with space bar.

Fixes

  • LandXML export uses now InfraModel version 4.0.4.
  • Updated Swedish translations.
