Recovery folder

Rewise makes backup copies of all edited file elements at five-minute intervals. the copies are stored to the recovery folder \<USER>/AppData/Local/Novatron/Rewise/backup/. The file menu command Recovery folder opens this folder in Windows File Explorer.

Backup file name is generated by converting some characters in the original file path: colon is converter to equal sign and backslashes are converted to @-signs. For example, path c:\folder\file.txt is converted to a file name c=@folder@file.txt.

The backup file format is always Rewise native TDW-format.

If the computer or application crashes during editing, this folder can be used to retrieve edited but unsaved files. Saving and closing the file element removes the backup copy automatically.
